Tameka

Since 2007, Tameka Chauka struggled with lupus and severe pneumonia, relying on an oxygen machine to breathe. In 2023, she was placed on the national transplant waiting list for a double lung transplant. Tameka waited 63 days until, on January 30, 2024, she received a call that doctors had a set of lungs for her from a deceased organ donor. The next day, after nearly eight hours of surgery, she woke up able to breathe on her own for the first time in years.

Help people like Tameka get their gift of life.
